Topic 6 - Biggest Lesson this Semester

The biggest lesson for me is GMAT writing. It is not only a useful course for GMAT exam but also a good argument essay practice class. I learnt how to write argument essay which is very important this semester.
I used to know argument essay is to argue different opinions. But know I know how to argue. I can also find whether the argument is oversimplify, false dilemma or ambiguous topic etc. I like that course very much.

Topic 5 My Favorite Place

Largs is the most beautiful town I have ever been which is located at west of Scotland in UK. It is a small seaside town which lies by the Atlantic Ocean   in which you can find great candy shop  Largs is near Paisley where I studied in the year 2011.

Almost every month except winter, my friends and I would like to go there and enjoy our day off. It took only 20 mins from Paisley to Largs by train. So, we liked the convenient transportation between these to small towns.

My friends and I liked walking along the beach, finding pagurian in a peace shallow water, feeding sea gulls with chips or cookies, watching small crabs climb out from the sand and hide back in to the sand, and enjoying our day off. The most post important thing for us there is watching the sun set. It is one of the most beautiful and amazing thing for me to spend 1-2 hours to watch a red ball fall into the Atlantic Ocean, of course in the harsh ocean wind with a cup of hot chocolate.

Another thing impressed me most is the shops on the both sides of the road. Every shop has its subject; for example, in a candy shop, you can not only find all kind of beautiful candy you want but also make your own awesome candy. Is it wonderful?!

Topic 4 Major

My major was Financial Management in China for my Bachelor's degree in China. However, now I would like to change my major into Accountancy for my Master's degree. These two majors are kind of same because their main courses are both accounting. So I chose the Accountancy major for my following Master's degree.

Actually, I don't like business things, but I like deal with numbers(I was good at math and physics in my high school). Hence, my first choice was about engineering discipline in my mind. But when I told my mother, she did not agree with me and we argued for a long time which was almost 2 months. she thought engineering subject should not be a good major for a girl, so at the end she won and made me change to Financial Management. And now I am the first business graduated student in my family group. I felt pressure!!! By now, I still do not like my major, but I will try my best to finish it and then do something I like, for example I want to have a part time major of teaching because I like kids, and it may not be difficult for me to communicate with kids. This is what I plan for my future. I really hope I can flee from business...........

Topic 3 Obstacles

This topic is kind of hard for me because I always happy and worry about nothing. LOL. If I have a obstacle I need to overcome, it should be "me", myself. I am not satisfied with myself all the time because I am not as good as I want, but I cannot help me to do things like "me". Most of time, I like thinking first; however, I am also easy to be impetuous in something. After I do or say some unfeasible things which is not what I meant to be, I am very guilty but cannot change it.  Hence, sometimes I am defeated by "me", but I am on my way to overcome "me" in my whole life long.

Topic #2 Spring Break Adventures

My friend and I went to Newport Beach during the spring break. It was very fun. We walked on the warm sand, wrote words on the ground by foot, took photos and videos, ran in the sea etc.


 When we taking photos by ourselves, a stranger came in to our picture quitly~~~  He stole the limelight! Did you see that serious face behind us? That's him!!  We laught a quite while when we saw this photo.

It was so funny!

 

Before the sunset, we had dinner at the Crab Cooker restaurant. We tried a intresting meal, which is called "softcrab". As it is showed in the photo. It was great. If you went there, don't forget have a try~~~~





#1 Spring Break

The most expectant spring break is coming!!!! I am going to go to the six flags with my friend on Monday or Tuesday. And we will also go to the Newport Beach next week. Shopping is a important thing for us as well.  I hope I can relax and enjoy the spring break.

Topic #5: I Cannot Live without PHONE

I cannot live without phone;it is an obvious fact.There are some reasons I need to explain. First, Phones are  communication tools. I use phone by calling, texting, and e-mailing others. Second, with the development of high-tech, phones can be used as cameras, recorders,even VCRs. I use phones take photos more convenient than use a huge camera at any where. If I am able to find Wi-Fi, I can share my photos with my friends and add the location as well. In addition, my phone is a big game console for me. I can kill time with my phone when I am on a bus or waiting for a bus. I can listen to the music,play games, and text with my friends with my lovely phone. Hence, my Iphone is the thing I cannot without, recently.

Topic #4: Which Language?

If you could be instantly fluent in another language , I would like to choose Cantonese, for 3 reasons. First, Mandarin and Cantonese are both belonging to Chinese; however, I can only speak and understand Mandarin not both as a Chinese. It is so uncomfortable for me to guess Cantonese dialogs. That language sounds like another foreign language for me that I totally cannot understand. For example, "hello" in Mandarin sounds like " nee how", but in Cantonese sounds like "lai(d) hole". Those are totally different right? Second, I like Hong Kong movies which are usually shown with Cantonese. If I cannot understand it by listening, it is too busy for me to staring are the subtitles. What is more, a lot of Chinese-American or American-Chinese speak Cantonese. They only know a little bit of Mandarin, so it is too weird for me to speak with a Asian look people in English. All in all, I prefer Cantonese better than any other languages.

Which holiday has the most meaning for you? Why?

The Chinese New Year is the most important holiday for me because the Chinese New Year is the biggest and meaningful holiday for Chinese. In China, people go back home and celebrate with their families during these days. In these day, people spend the last day of the previous year and the first few days of next year with their families. Old people are surrounded by children with wishes. Children are given money and good luck from older people when children pay a New Year call to old people. There are also a lot of wonderful fireworks during these days. It is most meaningful holiday for Chinese; as same as, I think it is important for me too. However, I could not go back to China in last Chinese New Year. The only thing I could do was making a phone call to my grandparents and giving them my best wishes.

Topic #3:Money, Power, or Fame?

Comparing with money and power, fame is the least important thing for me.First of all, I am a student, and i do not think fame is such a good thing for a student. It can make student lose their attention from study. Secondly, fame is useless for me than money and power. For example, money is used in everyday life, but fame is not. As same as, I may have shortcut in study if I have power, while not fame. In addition, fame means people live under the halo every seconds. I do not really want to be like that because the less fanfare the better.In short, I do think fame is the least important thing for me.

Topic #2: The strangest thing I have ever eaten

I love to eat as well, but I am not a crazy eater. I do love to taste different kinds of food, while I only accept some nice-looking ones; except this unbelievable thing I want to share with you.

I have ever eaten the meat of an CROCODILE. I cannot believe how can I do that! However, after that I told myself it was a reasonable action; otherwise I would meet trouble. It was happened 10 years ago. My mother, my grandma,  my younger cousin sister, and I were joining a travel agency to Thailand.We went to the zoo one day. There was a crocodile show there. It was free, but you must buy something else. So my mom bought some souvenirs first, but we were 'invited' by a local people to buy the meat of crocodile which was much more expensive than souvenirs.(He had 'if you do not buy, I am not happy and I do not know what will happen next' on his face) Then my mom bought some grilled meat. She hold the box in her hand; however, the local people came to us again. Suddenly, my mom opened the box and made me and my cousin sister ate the chopped meat. Then, the local people was very happy to see we were eating for he cannot understand our language, so he was nicer and introduced a lot for us. My mom thought we were safe from then. For that reason, we avoided some troubles; my mom made a best decision for us. Thank goodness!   

Actually I only had one bite of the meat. I remembered it tastes like beef because it was hard and tight; however, I thought it also had a little bit sour or the smell of water of it,I guessed it was not well stored then.

All in all, this is the little experience of the strangest thing I have ever eaten. Thank you for reading.   ~O(∩_∩)O~  

Help: character styles of header~~

Hey guys, how can I change the character styles into some awesome ones?  Cuz I saw Kevin, Jiseon, and Asma have some great character styles of their headers. I want to change mine too, but I don't know how. Is there someone can help me?

Topic #1: Who Am I? XD

Hey guys, my name is Ruxin Wang, and you can just call me Jean. I'm from China, Beijing. I have been Fullerton for 5 months, but I do not think I travel a lot, except I go to Torrance during every weekends. Hence, I always stay at home.

As you all known, I live in an American family. The family is nice and sweet because the friendly people and lovely pets. There are two dogs in this family. One is golden-retriever named Gus, and another one is small fat dog named Charly (I don't know what kind of dog he is). Gus is so nice and gentle, but Charly likes barking, eating, and sleeping with snoring all the time. Most of time I like to stay with Gus because he is so nice. Sometimes, I like to make jokes about him; such as shown in the photo. XD  Charly is also very cute. He is fat, yes he is, so my host family call him 'pig' sometime and he looks very happy. When he is sleeping, he snores all the time. It is very loud, noisy, continuous and worse than human; so,he always can be waked up by his sonring. He is so funny.   

LOL. Is it a little bit about me? Whatever, hope you like it. :D
